Background
Maria Farley was sailing to the New World when the Storm took her and her family. She was the only survivor, other than the Captain's (her father) parrots. She was 12 at the time. She had basically grown up on this ship. Working first in the mess hall and then mopping the deck and other tasks as she got older. Finding herself in an entirely different New World, Maria became a survivor, first as a street rat, and now as a sailor.
